The Beauty of Dressing – Kimono Experience
Your experience begins by dressing in an authentic silk kimono.
The collection at Washin-an has been carefully curated over decades by Madame Okagaki, a respected figure in the kimono industry.
These are not costume garments, but genuine pieces—rarely available to the public—offering a level of elegance and quality that defines true Japanese attire.

Once you have selected your kimono, our professional staff will dress you with care and precision, ensuring both comfort and beauty.
Even within a short time, this moment of transformation allows you to experience the essence of Japanese aesthetics.

Serenity in Tea – Matcha Experience
After dressing, you will be guided into a traditional Japanese room for a matcha experience.
First, observe the host’s graceful tea preparation, appreciating each deliberate movement and the quiet beauty of the utensils.

You will then have the opportunity to prepare matcha yourself.
By making and tasting your own tea alongside seasonal Japanese sweets, you will experience the calm, mindfulness, and spirit of hospitality at the heart of Japanese culture—a moment to gently restore and center the mind.

As the experience is conducted in a ritsurei-style setting (using chairs and a table), it can be enjoyed comfortably by all guests.

Though brief, this experience leaves a lasting and memorable impression.

Capture the Moment
Throughout the experience, you are welcome to take photographs at your preferred moments, capturing your experience in a natural and unhurried way.

A Memorable Souvenir
After the experience, you will receive traditional kaishi paper as a souvenir.
Used in the Japanese tea ceremony, kaishi symbolizes purity and thoughtful consideration for others.
By using it gracefully, one can subtly bring a sense of order and beauty to any setting—an expression of uniquely Japanese aesthetics.
Lightweight and versatile, it can be used as a napkin, a small plate for sweets, or even for notes and simple wrapping.
A delicate yet meaningful item that allows you to carry the spirit of Japanese culture into your everyday life.
