From a young age, I grew up captivated by my mother’s kimono and was fortunate to experience traditional Japanese arts such as tea ceremony and flower arranging, nurturing a deep appreciation for Japan’s refined cultural heritage.
With the desire that “when my daughters grow up, I want to dress them in kimono with my own hands,” I began formal training at the Reihou Kimono Academy in 1998. Since then, I have taught kimono dressing to a wide range of people, from local communities to corporate clients, sharing the elegance and charm of kimono with many. Today, I continue to promote traditional Japanese culture through kimono, both within Japan and internationally.
The true beauty of kimono lies in the artful variety of obi knots, the subtle elegance that shifts with each style, and the joy of selecting colors and patterns that reflect the changing seasons. Witnessing the smiles of those wearing kimono is a source of great joy and continually reminds me of the timeless elegance of this traditional Japanese attire.
幼い頃より母の着物姿を見て育ち、また茶道や華道といった日本の伝統文化に触れる機会にも恵まれ、自然と和の世界に親しんでまいりました。
やがて「娘たちが成長した時、自らの手で着物を着せてあげたい」──その思いから、1998年に礼法着物学院にて本格的に学びを始めました。
以来、地域の皆さまから企業まで幅広い場で着付け講師を務め、これまで数多くの方々に着物の魅力をお伝えしてまいりました。現在では、国内外に向けて、着物を通じて日本の伝統文化を広げる活動にも取り組んでおります。
着物の魅力は、何といっても帯の結び方の多彩さにあり、装いに合わせて変化させ、その美しさを楽しむことができます。四季折々の色や柄を選ぶ喜びもまた、着物ならではの楽しみです。お召しになる方が笑顔になられる瞬間に立ち会えることは、私にとって大きな喜びであり、改めて「着物」という民族衣装の尊さを実感いたします。
