My first encounter with the world of kimono came when I was working in the beauty industry and had the honor of doing makeup for a young woman’s Seijin-shiki (Coming-of-Age ceremony) at the age of twenty. Since then, I have been involved in work related to kimono, and each day I find myself deeply inspired by its elegance and profound beauty.
In my private life as well, I often arrange occasions such as luncheons with friends where I wear kimono, enjoying the experience while continuously refining my skills in dressing.
Through my years working at a kimono shop and as a kimono advisor, I have now been engaged in this field for over a decade. What I love most is coordinating kimono ensembles. From the kimono itself, to the obi, and down to the smallest accessories, creating a harmonious balance that delights my clients brings me joy beyond words.
Alongside kimono, I have also been deeply drawn to the Japanese art of tea. I have studied Urasenke tea ceremony for eleven years, and Omotesenke for one year.
Our Kaiseki etiquette program is the result of more than two years of refinement, filled with the heartfelt dedication of each instructor. I truly believe it is a great loss to see Japan’s traditional culture fading away, and I sincerely hope to share its timeless beauty with people from around the world.
着物に興味を抱くきっかけとなったのは、美容業界で働いていた際、20歳のお祝いである成人式のメイクを担当したことでした。それ以来、着物に関わるお仕事に携わるようになり、日々、着物の奥深い魅力に触れながら、その世界を楽しんでいます。
プライベートでも友人とのランチ会など着物で出かける機会を定期的に設け、楽しみながら着付けの腕を磨いております。
呉服店での勤務や着物アドバイザーの経験を経て、気が付けば10年以上着物業界に携わっています。
そんな私にとって何よりも楽しいのは、着物をコーディネートすることです。着物から帯、そして小物に至るまで納得のいく組み合わせを完成させ、お客様が心から喜んでくださる瞬間は、私にとって言葉にできないほどの喜びです。
また、着物と同じく日本文化に深く魅了され、お茶にも長く親しんでまいりました。裏千家茶道、表千家茶道ともに経験があります。
懐石のいただき方講座は、2年以上の試行錯誤を経て、講師一人ひとりの思いが詰まったものです。古き良き日本の文化が失われていくのは非常に惜しいこと。国内外を問わず、多くの方々にその魅力をお伝えできることを、心より願っております。
